Bernard is an award-winning Director, Producer, Series and Executive Producer specialising in nature and people documentaries for over 35 years. He started as a graduate trainee at the BBC in 1983, and later as a producer-director, series producer and executive producer in the BBC's Natural History Unit  for over 21 years.  In 2004 he left the BBC to form his own indie company Aqua Vita Films.  There he developed and produced documentaries with all the major international broadcasters - BBC, ITV, Channel 5, Discovery, National Geographic, Smithsonian, PBS and Terra Mater.  He also worked on a variety of TV genres including making a short drama and working with scriptwriters in the creation of full feature movies.
